This week is P.E and Science week. Each day one of the teachers will be setting a P.E activity for you to have a go at. We would love to see what you do on dojo. There is also a topic grid full of Science activities that you may also wish to have a look and and attempt. Do not forget we have the Year 6 Leaver's service on Friday at 1pm. Have a great last week! Miss M x
Week Commencing 6th July 2020 This week we are celebrating Arts week. Each day the teachers have set an art activity for the children to explore. We appreciate that you may have to adapt activities to go with the resources you have at home. We hope that you enjoy the variety of tasks. In addition to this we have set a map of activities you may wish to choose from. These explore Our World and have a Geography flavour. We have also got a new exciting trial for an ICT subscription for you to try. It is called EducationCity and offers English, Maths, Science and Online Safety activities. If the trial goes well and we buy after the trial, the children will have access to this over the summer holidays. Mrs Hodges will be in touch with login details for the children continuing to learn at home. There will not be any formal maths and English work set this week. Many thanks. Mrs. Hodges
Week Commencing 29th June 2020 Wow, what a week we had last week! We loved the research projects that the children engaged in. This week we have also planned to give the children an element of choice in what they choose to explore. This week, the English tasks will have a story and reading focus, and in mathematics the year 2 will tackle Fractions. The afternoon tasks will continue to look at aspirations and careers. I hope to invite a couple of guests to join our Zoom meetings. I appreciate that some of the year 2 children will be attendng school on different days, so please complete the 4 Fraction lessons for maths, and I will set a fifth problem solving task which is optional. This will allow for the activities to complement what's going on in school. Our daily Zoom meetings will have a English theme, or look at different jobs.
Parents, can I just thank you for the wonderful job you're doing at home. We appreciate that this is not always easy, but you are all fantastic. Can I also thank you for how you're supporting each other with the technology, messaging etc. I appreciate it.
Mrs Hodges
Week commencing 22nd June 2020 This week we thought that we'd mix things up a little and let the children get involved with a research project of their own choosing. We'd like them to apply some of the skills that they've been developing this year. Alongside this we will also continue to set mathematics activities and a few afternoon tasks. We look forward to seeing what they choose to investigate. Mrs. Hodges
Week Commencing 15th June 2020 This week there are a few changes with the children attending school, and we recognise that some of the children are still adjusting to continued home learning, with siblings back in school. We understand that this can be unsettling for the children, so we have planned for Monday to be a 'Physical and Mental Wellbeing Day' The theme of Oceans and ocean animals has been selected for the week and we hope that you enjoy the activities planned.
Week Commencing 8th June 2020 Please find attached this weeks activities. We have chosen to follow the theme of giant animals as many of the children have expressed an interest. We hope that you enjoy the activities that we have planned. In addition to some of the activities on the theme maps, we have attached some extra fun tasks if your children wanted a little extra. We hope you have a great week and look forward to seeing the childrens work. Remember, if you would like me (Mrs. Hodges) to give you a call, simply drop me an email and I'll get in touch. I look forward to seeing the Year 2's on Zoom at 10:30 each morning. (If you can make it.) Mrs Hodges
