Pupil Premium funding April 2013 / April 2014



Pupil Premium is allocated to schools from central Government to support children from low-income families who are currently known to be eligible for free school meals and children who have been looked after continuously for more than six months. Schools are free to spend the money as they see fit and are required to publish this information online.


Our school allocation from central Government = £1,906


At Cranham C of E Primary School, it is used to help the most vulnerable children to Close the gap with both their emotional and academic.

What did we want to do?

We want to ensure that every child who receives pupil premium is able to thrive academically, socially, spiritually, emotionally and physically within our setting.


What did we decide to do? What did we spend the PP funding on?

  1. We provided free school meals for those children who were entitled - £234
  2. We provided an additional teacher for small group work to raise attainment - £1080
  3. We bought in an Emotional Writing project to support the whole child - £750


What has been the impact so far?

  1. PP children have had quality lunch provision
  2. The emotional writing project supported the whole child and identified next steps for the school
  3. Funding supported attainment. Progress from September 2013 – April 2014
